The Indigenous Perspectives Society, formerly Caring for First Nations Children Society, is a registered charitable non-profit and has been in existence since 1994. The Society has played a significant role in the delivery of training and policy development specific to the Aboriginal Child Welfare field.
The Indigenous Perspectives Society responded to a Request for Proposals for “Training and Support Services for Aboriginal Foster Parents.” The Society was the successful proponent and one of the first tasks was to complete a training needs survey of all the Delegated Aboriginal Agencies to determine how many caregivers required training. The survey will determine the training schedule for 2016/2017. We look forward to supporting caregivers and the Delegated Aboriginal Agencies in the province of BC.
