Indigenous Caregivers of BC, initially managed by an Indigenous agency in the Vancouver area, has transitioned to the capable hands of Indigenous Perspectives Society (IPS). This transition allows us to continue our mission of supporting and empowering caregivers within the Indigenous community.
For many years, IPS has been providing Pre-Service training to foster parents, ensuring they are well-prepared to care for Indigenous children. This training is available to both Indigenous foster parents and non-Indigenous foster parents of Indigenous children, emphasizing cultural understanding and sensitivity.
In addition to our comprehensive training programs, we offer a 1-800 support line. This invaluable resource provides foster parents of indigenous children with easy access to information, resources, and support whenever they need it.
